Diving in Croatia
In all the Port Authorities, Tourist Communities and Tourist agencies you can get all infonnation conceming diving in Croatia. You are only allowed to dive with a valid license of the Croatian Divers Union 1 Hrvatski ronila?ki savez (HRS) The diving licenses are valid Dne year after they were issued, and they are handed out by the Port Authorities only to that person who has a valid diving education in intemational recognized schools. Temporarily pennissions for diving are not given. The price for the diving license is 100 kunas. The area on which you dive must be seeably marked with a .or a flag. The highest depth for sport diving and other kinds of diving that is allowed by law is limited to 40m. It is not allowed to dive in Nationa1 Parks, ports, traffic passages, near military areas and war ships, and the island Vis (eastem part to the Cape Zaglava with the islands), Biševa, Brusnika, Jabuke, Lastova (islands: Lastovci, Vrhovnjaci, Kopište i Podkopište), Sušca, Palagruže, Premude (wrack Szent Istvan, 1918.god.) and Sv.Ivana on the open sea (wrack Baru Gautsch, 1914.god.). For these areas and for the National Parks you need special pennissions which are given by the State Administration for the Protection of the natural and cultural heritage. It is not a11owed to take anything out of the sea. This is valid especially for cultural monuments. The pennission to take something out must be given by the Port Authority in cooperation with the Service for protection of monuments. For all other researching under the water you need the pennission of the Ministry of sea, tourism, traffic and development. A pennission of the Service for protection of monuments is necessary for the researching of cultural monuments.
